🧵 Welcome to the Wonderful World of Felt Food

There’s something truly magical about make-believe meals: the tiny cups of tea poured with care, the imaginary cakes shared with friends, and the proud “I made this for you!” moments that fill a play kitchen.

At Studio Charley, I turn those moments into something beautifully tactile and timeless: handmade felt food. Each piece is lovingly designed, stitched, and tested to bring a touch of creativity and quality to imaginative play.

🍎 What Is Felt Food?

Felt food is exactly what it sounds like: soft, stitched versions of everyday foods made from colourful felt. From apples and bananas to pizza and cookies, these playful pieces encourage children to explore, role-play, and create stories through pretend play.

Unlike plastic toys, felt food feels gentle in small hands, is lightweight and durable, and looks beautiful displayed in a nursery or playroom.

🧵 Handmade with Heart

Every design in my collection starts as a sketch in my studio. I test each one to ensure it’s safe, durable, and delightful so that you can trust it’s made to last.

All my pieces are UKCA and CE tested, meaning they meet the highest safety standards for play in the UK. So whether you’re buying for a little one or for display, you can be sure it’s crafted with care.

🧺 Perfect for Play and Display

Felt food isn’t just for play kitchens. It makes wonderful gifts, décor, and props too. Think:

  • A basket of fruit in a child’s room

  • A handmade breakfast set for pretend cafés

  • A sweet display in a nursery or classroom

They’re the kind of toys that spark imagination and last for years.

Alongside my ready-made creations, I also design PDF sewing patterns so you can create your own felt food at home. Whether you’re an experienced crafter or just starting out, my patterns are easy to follow and come with full instructions, perfect for a mindful afternoon of stitching.
